Young leaves are used to flavour teas, soups, milk, etc. In food preparations, it imparts a slightly astringent flavour to marinades, curries, and salads. Medicinally, lemon balm reduces blood pressure and is used in an infusion to treat colds, the flu, insomnia, indigestion and other stomach related ailments.
